Happy Tuesday loves! How was everyones' weekend?!? If you follow me on Instagram {if you haven't started yet, now is an okay time to!! I won't judge you..promise! :) } you saw I spent part of my weekend at the beach and oh my gosh was it super relaxing. I can't pinpoint the one thing that makes the beach such an enjoyable place for me but I can say that adding family into the trip certainly made it incredible! Getting away from all the craziness and stress in my life was helpful but at the same time it certainly doesn't make it disappear. I am still super stressed about moving and the time is getting closer and closer so I'm trying to get as many posts up before then to keep you guys from feeling neglected! I cannot believe my life is going to be in boxes...again! {and I know it won't be the last time... insert sigh *here*}

Todays look is super chic and incredibly comfortable! I often look to how I can style pieces around my work environment and this dress was something that fit the criteria. While the price tag isn't the lowest {I'm a girl on a budget} I saw all of the ways I could wear this and get great use out of it. Oh, and yes you guys heard me right this piece is a dress, but here I wore it as a shirt. The dress buttons all the way down to the calf area and can be worn that way. The last way I thought to wear it was as a "cardigan" type style. See?! So versatile!

{ Dress: Forever21, craving this one}

{ Hat: Target (old) similar option here and craving this one for fall }

{ Jeans: Old Navy }

{ loooooveee this open part of the back :)  }

{ Shoes: Target }

Hope you guys enjoyed!! Until next time loves!! XOXO

My Summer Must Haves

Thursday, July 16, 2015

Hello loves! Happy Wednesday all you darlings! First I cannot believe its already Wednesday and can we talk about how it's also half way through July?!?! Time is just zipping by and I'm having a hard time grasping that in less than three weeks I will be moving back home into my parents house. While it is an incredible opportunity to be able to have my family's support and love, it also is incredibly hard to live with other people again instead of being on my own. I love the privacy and alone time that having your own living space provides. I'm also big on personal style { I know, go figure!} and I love having my own space to be able to express my individuality. The major plus's of making this move is being able to make lifestyle changes and having help caring for Dallas.

Todays post is all about my summer essentials for this year. I cannot believe that summer is almost half way over and I've only gone to the beach and enjoyed this weather a handful of times. I NEED to get out and enjoy more of this summer time sunshine and smile at what an incredible place this world can be. When people think of summer essentials they may think of similiar products listed below but I think that everyone has a different idea of what is essential to them and that is OKAY!!! We are not all similar and that is what makes us, us.

For me, lippies are a MUST HAVE any time of the year. The base to any beautiful lip is lip balm. Lip balm keeps your lips hydrated, protected and silky smooth. EOS lip balms took it a step further and packaged it in this cute little sphere shape with bright colors and flavors. My favorite that I just ran out of is the "Strawberry Sorbet" in its adorable pink packaging. Keeping your lips protected from the sun when out at the beach, family cookout or outlet shoppingggg is very important and looking cute while doing so is an extra bonus! Plus we can't forget that putting our fave lippies and lip colors on chapped lips is not cute and only draws attention to a problematic area. So drink lots of water and add lip balm to the top of your to do list!

(EOS lip balm {in Honeysuckle Honeydew})

Next on my list is summer skincare must haves!! I have not had a chance to discuss with you my skincare journey so I will summarize and leave up to you all to tell me if you would like a more in depth post about all the ups and down and products that I have tried. About two years ago I suffered a blood clot that caused partial vision lost in my left eye. The doctors could only relate this blood clot with the birth control pill I was on at the time and told me to stop taking them if I wanted to prevent this ever happening again. I had gone through several different birth control pills trying to find the one that would allow me to feel normal and would prevent migrane and PMS. Experiencing the loss I experienced I took the doctor's advice and in doing so my hormone level spiked causing an acne issue that I had never experienced before. After seeing a dermatologist and trying different topical creams I found one that worked for me and implemented an extremely delicate cleanser called Cetaphil. After trying many of the new products on the market since then I have always gone back to the same cleanser time after time until I found the Simple products below. I have fallen in lust with them and implemented them in my daily cleansing routine. The wipes are great when you're in a time crunch or on the go, they do not burn or cause irritation to the skin like many others I have tried. One wipe is all you need to clean your entire face! The Micellar Water...is a must try, must buy for everyone!! This stuff is life changing and you won't even notice it at first. The product leaves your skin silky smooth and removes any left over residue from cleansing. And of course last but not least the Banana Boat Aloe After Sun Lotion is a no brainer for summer after basking in the summer sun all day. This lotion has been my go to for sun burn calming time after time. I usually get home from the beach, shower and cake on this lotion. Then again before heading to bed for the night I cake it on {extra thick this time} and throw on a t-shirt and pants so that my sheets aren't all icky in the morning. By the next morning my skin has calmed down and I am on my way to a tan! Honestly this stuff is magic!! I also use this lotion when I am looking to put moisture back into my skin. Not only is the smell great, it leaves your skin super silky soft and doesn't clog your pores. Its amazing, take my word for it!

{You can find Simple products here and here, Banana Boat Aloe After Sun here}

Okay so summer is also a time for mani's and pedi's to show case the seasons hottest colors and accessorize to your look. I mean c'mon who can't agree that those adorable midi rings and new sandals are best rocked with perfectly manicured nails and toes!?! This Mango Mend is designed for rough, dry, cracked skin but also works wonders for your cuticles. Hangnails and cracked heels are not sexy and since we all can't afford fifty plus dollar nail salon trips every week we must take it upon ourselves to maintain on our own. This stuff is a must use!
{Mango : Mango Mend can be found here}

Lippies!! My favorite accessory are lippies, in an instant it can change your look. Put on a deep dark red and you go from blah to sultry. Put on a bright pink and you go from blah to spunky! I just love it! Pretty much every time I head to a drug store or beauty section I pick up a new lippy. For the most part lippies never expire and can be used over and over again. These butter glosses are super pigmented and don't leave your lips feeling sticky. I have repurchased both "creme brulee" and "eclair" multiple times because I love how a simple nude/pinky lip neutralizes any look.

NYX: Butter Glosses {can be found here and here}

{From left to right: Strawberry Parfait, Merengue, Eclair, Maple Blondie, Creme Brulee}

Last but not least is my summer craze- "The Selfie" Stick! I fell into the trap when shopping through TJ Maxx one day and can't say that I hate it. It makes taking pictures of groups or even yourself ( duh, I know its a "selfie" stick) a whole heck of alot easier. It's also very easy to set up and connect with your smart phone- whichever kind you have- through bluetooth! Once you have connected it all you have to do is open up your camera app and click the photo button shown below and the shot will be taken and added into your gallery. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

"The Selfie" Stick {can be found here}

Oh and I need to mention that its easy to throw into a bag and take with you since it collapses to a small size! Until next time loves!!!

Better Than Sex

Sunday, July 12, 2015

Well hello again loves! This is my first product review and I'm super excited to share with you all! I've used drug store mascara for so long now and decided it's about time I try something new. Over the next several days I'm going to be comparing different mascaras that I purchased recently. Including pictures of the boxed product, the product itself and pictures of the product in use.

Another reason why I chose mascara is because I recently gave false eyelash extensions a try and while I loved the length and volume they gave me I hated how they were constantly in my line of vision and when they naturally grew off it was a less than pleasing experience. Unfortunately I cannot say that I am great at applying false lashes on my own. I will keep practicing until I get it right and they become publicly acceptable, haha!! There is nothing worse, in my opinion then seeing someone enhance their beauty and it be completely noticable. These products are meant to enhance your own beauty not put a mask over it. Just my opinion, no one has to agree with it.

Okay so, after 8 + hours I have to say that it measured up pretty well against my "norm" so I am interested in trying the other mascara involved in my experiment and then revisiting my favorite to see if it is still my favorite!! The only con I have to this mascara is that it does leave a slight bit of residue or smudge if you will under my lower lashes but nothing too crazy.

Hope you enjoyed this review!! Until next time loves!!!

Budding Industrialist

Happy weekend! Can you believe it's Sunday already?!? How I wish that time could pause every now and again! Don't you? Between a baby shower and packing I had zero time to myself, even though I was pretty much alone all weekend haha!! I didn't have time to cook either so I ordered a pizza super super late last night after taking apart my couch and rearranging my place. After sitting down to eat a slice or two, or three :) I was ready for bed!

Today's look features one of my favorite summer time purchases: this flower kimono. Funny thing about this kimono is that it is bigger than I had wanted but feels amazing because of the size. When I purchased this I saw it hanging during a lunch break shopping spree. Lunch break= crunch time!! So when I had picked it up the hanger said Small/Medium, when I finally got around to wearing it {the next day haha} I pulled the ticket tag off before realizing that it indeed was a Large/Xtra Large. OOPS!! It always angers me when people try to pull the crafty and lazy hanger swap, am I alone??

{Flower Kimono: Target, similiar here}
{Top: Forever 21 (old) lusting for this and this}
{Jeans: Old Navy (craving these)}

{Shoes: Brash from Payless (old) similiar option here }

Hope you enjoyed todays look! Until next time loves!! Muuuuuaaaaahhhhhh!! Muah! Muah!

Misunderstood Funk

Happy Wednesday! Its half way through the work week which means only two more days until the weekend. For me, it also means less than twenty-four hours to spend with my handsome roomie <3 *insert sad face here* I've been counting down the days before the move and it stresses me out just thinking about it. Thank goodness I have you guys and shopping to keep my mind somewhat preoccupied. Oh yeah and work, but that doesn't keep my mind off of things instead I just day dream in between tasks. Lately even sleeping has felt like work! My mind doesn't seem to shut off so I have dreams about the craziest things and it really is starting to drive me insane!! Is anyone into disecting dreams and identifying what they really are about??? I'd love to know what underlying thoughts my brain has been trying to activate instead of falling into a relaxing REM sleep. I woke up this morning and felt pretty rested, and after finishing an entire iced coffee ((we will get into the significance of this one day...promise!)) I felt super energized! I never want the energy to go awayyyyy!!

Today's look is relaxed, dressy, yet casual. It feels sophisticated and funky all at the same time. When I purchased this dress from SheIn and tried it on I saw the infinite possibilities to style it! To get such a versitile piece for the low cost was a steal. I ordered size M in it and it's debatible whether I would stick with that size or order a size up. The lengths fit great, its the sneaky side slits that can get you into trouble. All in all, its preference and confidence above perfect fit.

Can we talk about this clutch and the shoes?!?!? The clutch was also a purchase from SheIn that is super trendy. Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you it is indeed clear. Now I wouldn't leave my credit cards or tampons hanging out for public view but the correct concealed items are perfectly acceptable. The black booties were an absolute gift from the shopping gods above! I happened to be browsing (as always) the shoe department at a local Target store when out of the corner of my eye in the clearence ((yes you heard me correct)) the clearence aisle I happen to spot these lovely ladies to which I snatched up and paid eight dollars for. Mmmmhhmmmmm. Eight dollars. $8. Eight doll hairs. I'm pretty sure I did my bargain happy dance in the parking lot. I'm also pretty sure that I felt like I was a VISB * (very important shoe buyer) as I drove off knowing that these shoes would be put to great use. Ladies it is extremely important to understand that a platform and thick heel are your best friends when it comes to wearing and walking in heels. They are super duper comfortable and a breeze to walk in, whether it's a shopping trip or just a quick dinner date. I know that this purchase is going to be an ultimate go to come fall but they will still see the sun a few times this summer before then!!

Glasses: Target

Inside the clutch: ( Sunglasses: Target, Flamingo Sunglasses Case: Francescas, Card Holder: Francescas, Lip Balm: Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm ) On my nails: Essie Nail Polish in the color "Watermelon"

Well, that is all for todays look! I hope you guys have an amazing rest of your week and I will catch up with you again real soon!!

Until next time!
